The USC Village is home to a freshman honors college, a sophomore honors college, and six themed colleges for second-year students. The residential college experience at USC Village gives new Trojans a built-in community from the moment they arrive. Residents in these vibrant, living-learning communities have access to an array of enriching programs all school year as part of their residential college experience, such as seminars, concerts, lectures, poetry readings, recitals, theatrical productions, research projects, reading groups, field trips, and other recreational, cultural and artistic events.
USC Village’s residential colleges foster the success of students during their time at the university: increasing cultural and intellectual values in students as well as gains in independence, tolerance, empathy, and interpersonal skills. Residential colleges are also the ideal forum for the blossoming of friendships, professional associations, and most enduring relationships.
Because USC Village’s residential colleges combine the personal attention, support, and family-like atmosphere of a small college with the extensive resources of a major research university, they are precisely the kind of program that sets USC Village apart as exceptional.
What’s more, some of the university’s most respected faculty members and their families live with the students in residence, taking personal interest in the academic careers of the students within their college. In addition to providing intellectual leadership, these faculty members coordinate and host academic programs and extracurricular activities with faculty, guests, and visiting scholars.
The residential college experience at USC Village gives new Trojans a built-in community from the moment they arrive. Each residential college creates an active and engaged community, where students learn from one another, share ideas, and create lasting friendships through social, recreational and academically-driven programs.
